Deadline...Deadline...Deadline

It's been proved too many times that I don't deal with deadlines too well. I'm so bad at planning things ahead and usually get stuck with too many things to do before the deadline.

Look at me now. The ISBI deadline was yesterday, I "successfully" submitted the "sorta-finished" version knowing that there will be a soft extension for up to a week. Now, supposed to be working hard on the revision, I can't help reading random things on the internet and obsessing with this new blog I started three days ago (when I was supposed to be working on the paper, I know!)

All this always makes me doubt the possibility I will ever survive/be happy in an academia setting, where the deadline for papers (and grants in some day) just come one after another. Oh, well, I still have couple of years to have an answer for that.

At least, I'm happy with what I'm working on now. Trust me, looking at brain development in monkeys is actually really fun. Being a geek and figuring out how to use new programs, how to code in a new language or just simply figuring out how to list the authors in a correct format in Latex is fun for me.

OK, enough random talking! Get back to working on the paper!
